An NCQA-Certified Credentials Verification Organization (CVO) is a third-party organization that has earned certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) by demonstrating compliance with established standards for provider credentialing and primary source verification.

NCQA certification indicates that the CVO follows defined processes for verifying provider qualifications, licensure, education, training, work history, malpractice coverage, and other credentialing elements used by health plans, hospitals, and healthcare organizations. Certification helps ensure that credentialing activities are performed consistently and in accordance with recognized industry standards.
